Photo manipulations and ethics

A) some of the main points i read in the article are editing pictures with photoshop with changing how people look, and how different manipulations are different from back then to now.
B) They believe in not changing the photos and leaving it the way it is
C) I think to edit the photo to enhance it but i don't think peoples bodies and such should be photo shopped to look differently.

I think this was very unethical because Times changed the photo to make him appear a darker shade than he is and made him look menacing. I think this is wrong because why make someone appear different than how they actually are, if other magazines are posting the actual version of the photograph its obvious that times altered the photo.

mccaughey12     I find this the least unethical because yes its bad that they photoshopped her face its not as bad as the other ones. Now a days they photoshop everyone in magazines so its typical now a days.

ISO

Image result for iso 200 ISO 200

Image result for iso 3200     ISO 3200

1) really clear good photos of the players
2) the lower the ISO the more sensitive to light
3) the higher the number the more sensitive your camera is

Shutter speed

Image result for high shutter speed    Low shutter speed

a) low shutter speed
b) low shutter speed
c)high shutter speed
d) high shutter speed
e) high shutter speed
f) high shutter speed

a) low
b) low
c) high
d) high
e) high
f) high

the three settings our camera has are aperture mode and it does it automatically, shutter prior it it does it by itself and manual mode you set it

Aperture

F 2.8
Image result for aperture setting f16  F218
1) We closely relate aperture to the human eye
2) The smaller the aperture the larger the number, the larger the aperture the smaller the number
3) Depth of the field is how focus something is, the  smaller the number the more blurry the background is and vise versa.

Great black and white photographers pt 2

Lewis Hine was born in Oshkosh Wisconsin on September 26,1974 and died on November 3, 1940, in his lifetime he was a photographer and a sociologist. The photos he took were the reason for the change in child labor laws in the united states because he captured all the children doing harsh labor. He attended sociology at New York university, Colombia university and University of Chicago, then he became a teacher and encouraged his students to use photography as educational, he took them to ellis island where they photographed immigrants coming in everyday.
Hines was a risk taker, he got threatened often by the police and such for capturing the children at work because they didn't want people knowing about it, he is the reason why the laws changed.

Post shoot reflection

http://jedthejournalist.blogspot.com

I really liked how the photos came out, they were really unique. I also really liked how the square photo was unique and had a pretty design on it.
The only thing i would change is the happy photo, it was a good photo but we couldn't see that the girl was happy.

The only thing i would change is the happy photo, it was a good photo but we couldn't see that the girl was happy.

academic and community service

1) I chose the photo of the girl walking through  a crowd of parents holding up hands for them, i chose this because the girl was in focus and seemed really happy.
2) The rules evident are framing because the parents are the frame of the photo.
1) I could take photos like the ones we saw in the classrooms, we could go to a PE class or to a chemistry class.
2) i would like to visit a science classroom or a Pe class
3) i will try and take photos in different angles to get different kind of shots.

Acamedic shoot review

The Story
This visually tells a story because it is a group of people coming together and holding hands and this photo is capturing the moment of all of it.

Action and Emotion
This is action because the girls are doing a experiment and emotion because the look on their faces after they see the reaction the experiment made

Interesting stuff
This is interesting because the group of students are conducting what seems like experiment  and you can see the excitement in their faces

Post shoot reflection

1) Challanges i encountered were trying to take good photographs without too much clashing in the background.
2) When taking the photos i thought about focus, i was trying to make sure the pictures came out good and not out of focus.
3) if i could do the assignment again i would use simplicity to make sure there is not stuff in the background that would ruin the photo.
4) i think my focus would stay the same because i think the camera did a well job on focusing on the subject of the photograph.
6) i am interested in shooting the same prompt but i would rater have a different prompt .

911 Technique

Balance: this photograph shows balance  because the flag pole and the fire fighter make a triangle but also because the fireman are in the same uniform and the background is fully grey.

Framing: The shadow of the building is framing the firefighter climbing the ladder which makes this photograph framing.

Lines: This picture is lines because in the background the building is full of lines on both sides of the man.

Merger: This is a merger because the plane is going into the building and the photograph captures that moment.

Rule of thirds: This picture captures rule of thirds because it shows the man looking out at the disaster and it also shows us what is going on in the background.

Simplicity : This photo is simplicity because the photograph is to capture the lady and the main focus is her.  and the background is pretty simple with all the dust so it is clear what the main focus is.

the camera

1)The camera Obscura effect was achieved because the whole was like a lens and it focused on projecting light onto a window.
2)In the 17th century, came one step closer to make the modern camera by understanding the optics and process of making high quality glass lens.
3) the first parts of the modern camera were a glass lens a dark box and film
4) The modern cameras are the same as the ancestors because the light still passes through the lens, into the camera to expose the film.
5) digital cameras use a electronic sensor to capture photographs
6) the difference between auto is that the camera will control the flash and exposure, program the photographer controls the flash etc.
7)  The portrait is used to blur the background of the photo, by using the high f-stop
8) sport mood is used to freeze motion, camera uses the highest shutter speed possible
9) the half press is good because the camera has a better faster camera response time, more control over the focus and encourages better composition.
10) the symbol means disabled flash, there is no flash, use this when there is natural light.
11) this symbol means auto flash, the camera uses this when it thinks the photo needs more light.
12) if there is too much light the picture will be washed out
13) if there is not enough light the picture will be dark.
14) stop represents the relative change in lighting
15) the stop is one
16) the stop is two
17) long shutter is more light
18) a short shutter is less light
19) the aperture controls light before it reaches the film
20) you can adjust the light in the settings.
