Lewis Hine was born in Oshkosh Wisconsin on September 26,1974 and died on November 3, 1940, in his lifetime he was a photographer and a sociologist. The photos he took were the reason for the change in child labor laws in the united states because he captured all the children doing harsh labor. He attended sociology at New York university, Colombia university and University of Chicago, then he became a teacher and encouraged his students to use photography as educational, he took them to ellis island where they photographed immigrants coming in everyday.
Hines was a risk taker, he got threatened often by the police and such for capturing the children at work because they didn't want people knowing about it, he is the reason why the laws changed.
